We Presented to the ABA Commission on Poverty and Homelessness

August 31, 2016

Rise Together helped coordinate a panel discussion today with the ABA Commission on Homelessness and Poverty to highlight regional and local approaches to addressing poverty. Participants included Rise Together partners Bay Area Legal Aid, Ensuring Opportunity Contra Costa, REDF, Juma, Sonoma County and the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Three panelists represented the client perspective.

Quote of the day: "We don't want a program, we want an opportunity. We don't want to be 'empowered', we want to be able to use the power we already have, and that means those in power have to be willing to share it"
